I decided to blast out some of my old, crappy artwork. Really, lets face it, some of it really was quite terrible. The pieces that remain are either something I'm proud of, or particularly representative of myself. At the moment, I'm working on a surreal landscape. It isn't surreal in the squids-playing-cards sort of way. There is nothing immediately unnatural about it. It is something about how the objects are arranged. The bottom line is I'm trying to push myself with this project. My painting skills have lots of room for improvement, and I'm using this painting as a way to, hopefully, take my painting to the next level. It represents what I hope will become a new beginning for my artwork. I feel like my focus has been away from artwork for way too long. It's time to return to it.
